It feels eerily similar to my own experience. It feels like the whole creator economy is brainwashing you into believing that you're supposed to build a personal brand and be a millionaire.

I'm wondering if that's really what people want or if the system would like you to believe so. From an economic standpoint it surely make sense. I think it's time to change that.

It's refreshing to see I'm not the only one.

As I listened to my wife reflect on her internal pressures this morning along a neighbourhood walk and talk with our umbrellas in the rain, I picked up a familiar yet new answer to that question.

She has never been one to fall prey to that creator economy and largely stays away from social media, but nevertheless, the pressure she feels is **wondering _when_ will she will be able to stop working so hard**.

That's it. It's not pressure to be a Substack writer turned millionaire. It's wondering when will I be able to step back from the grind that we call 9–5 employment in a place you might not be very happy about or motivated to go to. That's why influencers and self-help stories books are so enticing: is _this_ a way to get to that financial and work freedom faster?
